This banjo is the newest of the Deering Golden Series 5-String Banjos (nickel plated), and now includes a new vintage style tone ring that will turn heads. Comparable to the finest 1930's mahogany banjos - with 20 hole spun, copper flashed tone ring & 3-ply maple rim. This neck and resonator are of a highest quality, dark stained mahogany with high gloss lacquer The genuine ebony fingerboard is inlaid with the traditional wreath pattern in mother of pearl. The key to the sound of this instrument is the new spun cast 20 hole pre-war style tone ring - this ring is copper flashed, without being plated, and weighs only 2.8 pounds, as opposed to the more traditional 3.4 pounds of most pre-war style tone rings. This is meticulously fitted to a hard rock 3-ply maple rim with a 30's style one-piece flange. This banjo will turn heads in any jam session. The rich ring of mahogany along with the full bass of the best of the vintage banjos, is evident up and down the fingerboard. You won't want to put this banjo down.
