Fiddle Tunes Made Easy for Bluegrass Guitar Book and CD by Eddie Collins
from Janet Davis Music - The Banjo Store
Fiddle Tunes Made Easy For Bluegrass Guitar is for those having trouble learning tunes that seem so easy for fiddle and mandolin players. The solution for learning these songs is to pull out the "stressed notes" of the melody and do it in a way that allows the right and left hands to make customary moves.
The format of the book is to have the Basic solo on the left-facing page and the Intermediate solo on the right. The accompanying CD has slow and fast tracks for each solo. Advanced solos are purposely omitted, as there are plenty of other resources for those, including many of Eddie's books. Basic versions rely on mostly quarter notes, while Intermediate versions have more eighth notes and possibly require more difficult moves by the right and left hand.
The solos are modular-replace any given measure from one solo with the same corresponding measure from the other solo. In this way, you can get out there and start jamming these tunes right away and at the same time continue to make your solo more sophisticated a little at a time.
