I'm a woman with small hands and I've been playing the banjo for about a year and
am playing at the intermediate level. I've always had trouble anchoring my pinkie because
it felt uncomfortable and so just anchored with my ring finger. I decided to try out your
wooden finger anchor and WOW! What a difference! My picking is smoother, my hand is
MUCH more stable and relaxed, and my pinkie isn't waving all over the place. I wondered
at first if the finger anchor would dampen the sound, but I can't detect any difference in
the sound of my instrument. The only problem I've had so far is that I sometimes catch my
middle pick on the corner of the anchor...but have adjusted and am doing that less. Because the
anchor is wood, I can just file that corner down a little if I need to later. It is a great little invention
and I'm thankful to the person who thought of it!
