I was looking at your web site and I saw the Sam Bush string section. So I thought what the heck I'll tell my story. I have a 1986 F model, and I've tried I guess about every string made, some strings DO NOT sound good on my mandolin I have even tried a new brand string and took them off the same day. One day I thought I would try the sam bush string (deep down I thought well its just another string). The first time I put on the strings - tuned it up - and man what a difference, It woke that mandolin up. A friend of mine, we play together every weekend, has a Gibson and a Alvarez and he couldn't believe the difference the strings made, he thought I had some one work on my mandolin. So he decided to put a set on each of his boxes, sorry to say those strings didnt sound as good as the strings he already uses. So even when we go places to play, he had rather play mine. I do not get paid from Gibson to say these things I just like the Bush strings! I guess the wood in each mandolin reacts different in every box. Oh I think in 1986 my mandolin costed around $400 it's just a cheep Brazos mandolin. Well thanks for letting me vent. Dennis
